This is the reason why I consider Mary Balogh as such an amazing writer. Nothing is ever aj simple as back covers lead you to believe, unfortunately, so expect a bit more twist.

The angst is low level but ever pervasive. The first half of the novel was compelling and interesting, but the second half just lost it for me.
